Plant Yourself at Niagara VegFest June 3-4, 2017

Niagara’s most popular plant-based celebration is set to return next month.

Niagara VegFest takes over Market Square in St. Catharines, Ont., on Sunday, June 4 with a roster of renowned speakers, including Sharon Mann, Canadian Fitness Presenter of the Year; gourmet food to wow any palate; more than 80 vegan vendors and exhibitors; live entertainment and compassionate fun for the entire family.

Now in its sixth year, Niagara VegFest has grown into a weekend-long affair with the addition of a vegan wine tour, multi-course dinner and documentary screening on Saturday, June 3. The self-guided VegFest in the Vineyard features four Niagara wineries sharing some of their best vintages paired with vegan food. VegFest at the Chef’s Table, in partnership with Niagara Culinary Tours, includes a guided walking tour through downtown St. Catharines followed by a four-course dinner at Mahtay Café. The vegan meal will be prepared by chefs from Rise Above, Wellington Court, Beechwood Doughnuts and Mahtay. Tipplers and diners can then head to the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre for a screening of Eating You Alive.

“Every year Niagara VegFest continues to grow and offer compassionate activities with broad appeal,” says Laurie Morrison, Niagara VegFest co-founder and organizer. “That speaks to the incredible support this grassroots festival has received from the community here at home and those visiting from elsewhere. Every year, thousands of people attend and we want to make sure we’re throwing the best plant-based party around.”

Admission to Niagara VegFest is by donation ($2 recommended). The event runs

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 4. Tickets for VegFest in the Vineyard, VegFest at the Chef’s Table, and the film screening on Saturday, June 3 are available at and must be purchased in advance.
