In the lead-up to Niagara VegFest 2015 on June 7, we’d like to introduce you to some of our wonderful vendors, exhibitors and volunteers who make the festival happen. In this Q&A, Mikael Nielsen, National Volunteer Coordinator for Mercy For Animals, tells us why VegFest is important to him and about the vital work that Mercy For Animals does across North America.
NVF: Tell us about your organization.
MN: Mercy For Animals is a national non-profit animal protection organization, dedicated to preventing cruelty to farmed animals and promoting compassionate food choices and policies. We do this in a number of ways, including undercover investigations into factory farms and slaughterhouse, we do advertising campaigns, we work with law makers and corporations to enact more animal friendly laws and policies, and we do a ton of grassroots outreach all over North America.
NVF: What are you most looking forward to at Niagara VegFest 2015?
MN: The food!
NVF: Why is Niagara VegFest important to you?
MN: We love being at events like this because it’s a wonderful place to interact with our amazing supporters and tell new people about the life-saving work of Mercy For Animals.
