In the lead-up to Niagara VegFest 2015 on June 7, we’d like to introduce you to some of our wonderful vendors, exhibitors and volunteers who make the festival happen. In this Q&A, Ana Catone of Sweets from the Earth tells us how VegFest helps create a sense of community and about her company’s delicious and ethical baked goods.
NVF: Tell us about your business.
AC: Sweets from the Earth was founded over 12 years ago as an all-natural vegan bakery. Our products are handmade in small batches using only the finest 100% plant based ingredients in either our dairy, egg, peanut, nut and sesame free or dairy, egg, wheat and gluten free bakeries. We offer a sinfully delicious assortment of cakes, cookies, bars and squares available at natural food stores, grocery stores, cafes and restaurants. Our talented cake designers can also make any of your special occasion cake /cupcake desires come true without the use of refined sugars or artificial flavours /colours. Sweet. Natural. Sinfully delicious, ethical baked goods.
NVF: What are you most looking forward to at Niagara VegFest 2015?
AC:We love our community and are most looking forward to meeting people who share our ethics and philosophies and of course, eat cake and cookies. We can’t wait to laugh, make new friends, and spread the word that you do not need animal products in order to make delicious baked goods that just happen be part of a happier and healthier lifestyle.
NVF: Why is Niagara VegFest important to you?
AC: It’s no secret how much we enjoy crafting sinfully delicious desserts. Niagara VegFest gives us the opportunity to share with our community and introduce Sweets from the Earth to those we haven’t met yet. And… we may have a few surprises for those that know us as well!!
