Niagara VegFest is an annual mulit-venue festival that takes place in downtown St. Catharines, Ontario and the Niagara Region. The festival celebrates a compassionate, healthy, plant-based lifestyle and features vendors, exhibitors, speakers, activities for kids, prizes and more!
In 2017 Niagara VegFest will take place June 3-4. On Saturday, June 3, various events take place across Niagara Region and in downtown St. Catharines. Festival Day, the Main Event takes place on Sunday, June 4 in Market Square.
Absolutely not! Everyone is welcome at the festival!
We are committed to keeping Niagara VegFest free, however donations are welcome. In 2017, the suggested donation will be $2 per person. This is not an official charge to attend the festival, however donations will help towards the increasing costs of producing the festival and your donations allow you to enter to win door prizes and draws throughout the day.
There is ample free parking in downtown St. Catharines for the main event on Sunday. All parking meters are free on Sundays. (download a map showing the location of these parking lots)
Please note that the Market Square lot will not be available for general parking during the festival.
Yes, persons who use wheelchairs or who have other mobility limitations will find the facilities at Market Square easily accessible.
A few accessible parking spots will be designated on Market Street by the James Street entrance.
Niagara VegFest is located 400 m from the main bus terminal in St. Catharines. City of St. Catharines Transit, Niagara Region Transit, Coach Canada, and Greyhound buses arrive and depart from this location. Some of these transit lines may have reduced service on Sundays, so it is important to double check the routes and schedules prior to making your journey. Please note that GO Transit does service St. Catharines, however the GO bus station is at Fairview Mall and the GO train arrives at the Via Rail Station. You would need to take a city bus or a taxi to get to the festival site from Fairview Mall or the Via Rail Station.
For the safety and comfort of all (including our nonhuman animal friends), the only dogs permitted on site are service dogs.
Absolutely! Many of our vendors will have food for sale and to sample. Bring your appetite!
Cash is your best bet for the festival. There will be some vendors who are able to process credit/debit card payments, but many won’t be set up for card payments. We will have two ATMs on site and there are major banks and credit unions within walking distance of the festival.

Yes. The Niagara VegFest 2017 Kids’ Zone includes seed planting, face-painting and other activities provided by Healthy Kids Community Challenge Niagara.
In addition, bouncy castles from Niagara Inflatables will be there.
On Saturday, June 3, 2017, come to Niagara and enjoy the VegFest in the Vineyard wine and food pairing tour. It is a great way to explore the beauty of the Niagara region. We partnered with 4 local wineries who provided vegan wine and vegan food for tasting at each stop.
On Saturday, enjoy a vegan dining experience in downtown St. Catharines and finish your day with a film. This year, Niagara VegFest has partnered with the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre Film House to screen Eating You Alive.
The wine tour is self-guided, meaning that you can start and finish at your leisure throughout the day. There are no fixed start and end times, save for the opening and closing hours of the wineries, generally between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

A 90% refund is available on or before May 26th, 2017. Refunds are unavailable after this date.
No, it is free to register for this exclusive fundraising event however, only the first 50 registrants will be invited to participate.
Your entrance donation allows you to enter to win 1 of 3 door prizes. Draws will be announced from our Speakers Corner at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Holders of winning tickets have until 5 p.m. of June 4, 2017 to claim their prize. Unclaimed door prizes will be rolled into the draw reserved for festival goers who have completed our on-site survey.
Hang onto to your entrance ticket as gifts provided by our vendors will be raffled off over the course of the day and announced from our Speakers Corner.
Participants of our on-site survey will be entered into a draw. A name will be drawn every hour between 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
